We are delighted to launch ‘Breakthrough’, an insightful showcase from across the Seedcamp Nation. In this interactive event, we will bring you a cross-section of companies building everything from healthcare systems in the developing world to distributed computing, with a focus on growth and key milestones since we first invested along with insights from the Seedcamp team around the vertical and why we’re excited by it.

In typical Seedcamp fashion, this will be an engaging and informal event bringing together key players from across the ecosystem. As we’re focussing on growth and results, this is most relevant for partners from Series A and growth-stage funds.

We’ve been investing in talented founders from all across Europe since 2007. This time we are visiting Kyiv to discuss the evolution of the Ukrainian startup ecosystem and dive into experiences of founding and scaling companies together with tech industry mavericks from Ukraine.

We’ve been investing in Estonia’s breakout talent for close to a decade and were one of the first funds to come to the region, uncovering exceptional talent and investing in the likes of TransferWise, Grabcad, Teleport, Monese, Erply and Nevercode, among others.

We’re super excited to be back in Tallinn for a fireside chat with Sten Tamkivi, Founder of Seedcamp-backed company, Teleport acquired by Topia in 2017 where he currently serves as CPO.

Seedcamp is searching for the most ambitious founders! We want to make it easier for all the incredible global talent out there to meet with us, so we’re opening applications for Online Office Hours, hosted on 13th February. This is a great opportunity to talk about your business with our Investment Team, receive early feedback and find out if you’re a good fit for Seedcamp.

Apply here (deadline 7 February)

What can I expect from Seedcamp Online Office Hours?

Seedcamp will select 12 startups who’ll receive a 15 min slot for a one-to-one conference call with our Investment Team. It’s a unique opportunity to discuss your business directly, before pre-seed applications close on 19th February and: – Receive early feedback about your business – Understand the areas of your business you may need to sharpen – Discuss if you are eligible to receive pre-seed or seed investment from Seedcamp

What happens next? The conference calls will be scheduled on Monday 13th February, with one of the 3 Investment Team members at Seedcamp. We will announce the exact time slot for each selected company by the end of Thursday 9th February.

Please note: This is an application to sign-up for Online Office Hours that will take place remotely. This is *not* an application for an investment, but a great opportunity to get in front of the investment team ahead of applications closing on 19th February 2017. To apply for pre-seed investment please go to https://seedcamp.com/apply-to-seedcamp.

The Seedcamp Team

The Seedcamp Team hit the road again!

If you’re attending Web Summit this week, make sure you say hi.

Keep a close eye on the schedule, as Seedcamp partners Carlos Eduardo Espinal and Reshma Sohoni, joined by investment team members Tom Wilson and Sia Houchangnia and our head of marketing and communications, Natasha Lytton have a series of Panels, Roundtables, Judging slots and Office Hours lined up, so all good opportunities to hear more from us.

As the tech world flocks to Lisbon for Web Summit this week, we’re also delighted to announce the launch of Seedsummit Portugal, an initiative providing simplified financial documents and guidelines to support the Portuguese startup ecosystem and positively impact local founders. We’ve partnered with Team Genesis® and Lisbon-based accelerator Beta-i on the initiative, with both sharing our confidence in Portugal as one of Europe’s emerging tech hubs.

In the meantime, if you’re a startup thinking of applying to our next round of pre-seed investment round, make a note that Seedcamp applications are currently open until 13th November. So grab this chance to meet our investment team in person and grill them with your questions before the deadline.

We can’t wait to meet you!

The Seedcamp Team

Seedcamp believes that the time is now for the application of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to fuel new innovation, empower a new breed of startup and disrupt industries. That’s why we’ve already made several investments in the space including re:infer, ThirdEye and AI Build. Now we’re looking for more companies to back.

If you’re a founder, operator or investor working with deep learning, neural networks, NLP, computer vision and other related themes then this event is for you. Together with our friends at Northzone, one of Europe’s leading VCs, we’ll be gathering several thought leaders in the space to discuss the rapidly increasing appetite for investment in the sector, as well as hearing from companies operating in it.

We’re inviting startups to present on stage, get feedback and hopefully take their business closer towards a first round of funding. It’s a great opportunity to get in front of investors and experts in the AI space, so please come along
