In the ‘Seedcamp Podcast Series’ we talk with key people in the tech startup industry to hear their stories and gleam key advice and learnings from their experiences.

In this episode of the Seedcamp Podcast, we were joined by Managing Partner of Fresco Capital,  Stephen Forte.

In our conversation we covered his move from Wall Street to becoming the “tech guy” to building his career in startups. Stephen provides some great advice for CTO’s in small companies on the skills they need to build as the business scales. He discusses how to develop an understanding of the non-technical sides of your business, how to hire and manage your first technical employees and the people skills you need in order to manage and delegate.

Stephen Forte is Managing Partner at Fresco Capital, an early stage Venture Fund, and is involved in all aspects of investment and operations with a specific focus on enterprise, big data, and IoT. Prior he was the Chief Strategy Officer of Telerik, a leading vendor of developer and team productivity tools acquired by Progress Software (NASDAQ: PRGS) in 2014. Stephen was the founder of Mach5, a Silicon Valley based startup accelerator and co-founder of AcceleratorHK, Hong Kong’s first startup accelerator.
