Associate – Select
Seedcamp is hiring for an Associate, Select Strategy
New York, Full Time | $100k - $130k + Carry
About Seedcamp
Seedcamp is Europe’s foundational early-stage venture firm, having backed companies like Revolut, UiPath, Wise, and Synthesia from their earliest days. The Select strategy is our growth-stage fund that doubles down on the standout companies in our portfolio at Series A and beyond, and selectively invests in breakout opportunities outside it. This role sits at the heart of that strategy, based in New York alongside our Select GP.
The Role
This is a founder-facing, knowledge-intensive role for someone who combines genuine emotional intelligence with sharp analytical instincts and real fluency with AI tools. You will be the operational engine of the Select strategy in New York, owning portfolio intelligence, community building, and the strategic research projects that keep the Select strategy informed, connected, and ahead of the market.
You will work closely with the Select GP, who leads investment decisions, LP relationships, and the strategic direction of the fund. Your job is to make sure that by the time you and the GP are in any room-with a founder, a VC, a corporate development executive, an investment banker, or an LP- you are both prepared, connected, and ahead of the conversation.
This is not a role for someone who needs to be managed. It is a role for someone who manages across and up effectively, takes real ownership, and finds satisfaction in making a high-performing team and strategy operate at their best.
What You’ll Own
Dealflow & Portfolio Intelligence
- Maintain a living, structured view of the Seedcamp portfolio using various software tools and AI-assisted workflows built by our technical team
- Review portfolio company reports on a rolling basis, surfacing material signals, growth inflections, and fundraising timing ahead
- Prepare concise, well-researched briefs on priority companies to support maintaining a“preemptive mindset”
- Track the anti-portfolio: companies passed on, their progress, and the lead investors backing them. Support strategies to cultivate relationships and access to later rounds
Portfolio Relationships & Support
- Support the active check-in cadence with portfolio company POCs
- Identify and, when appropriate, execute on high-leverage introductions for priority portfolio companies: investors, customers, US-based talent, advisors, and service providers
- Develop and maintain playbooks and other resources for founders scaling and/or moving to the US
- Assist the investment team by handling operational and logistical questions from founders around US market entry, team-building, and service providers, while escalating questions to more senior team members when appropriate.
Community & Events
- Execute network compounding projects within the strategy set by the GP: organizing dinners, roundtables, and programming; ideate new ideas and products to the team for review
- Source and coordinate high-impact attendees for twice-annual Seedcamp community dinners
- Build and maintain a curated events calendar focused across New York and SF — prioritizing attendance by relevance to Select
- Represent Seedcamp at relevant ecosystem events; identify and coordinate opportunities to place portfolio companies in high-value enterprise and investor events
Content Creation & Communications
- Support the drafting of internal and potentially external content that captures key learnings and insights from strategic projects
- Conduct secondary research, fact-check drafts, and obtain quotes or input from relevant individuals to support this content
Deal Support
- Support investment memo research, diligence, and first-draft writing using AI-assisted workflows
- Maintain file hygiene across all deal and portfolio systems
Pipeline & Operations
- Maintain a co-investor and lead fund tracker with an active touchpoint calendar in support of the Seedcamp investment team
- Consolidate reporting from emerging manager relationships and manage regular cadence
- Support the creation of bi-weekly Select strategy reports for internal circulation
- Support LP material and LPAC deck preparation under GP direction
What We’re Looking For
- 3–5 years of experience in a founder-facing, investor-adjacent, or high-velocity operator role, eg venture, chief of staff, BD, or a scaling startup
- Proven track record in ecosystem development or business development, with a demonstrated ability to build and navigate high-value professional networks in New York and (preferable) SF
- Genuinely high EQ: founders, investors, and colleagues trust you quickly and keep trusting you
- A strong and versatile writer. You can craft a sharp two-page company brief, a warm outreach email, and a polished internal report with equal facility
- Proactive leverage of AI. You’re not only fluent with AI tools, but constantly looking for ways to automate workflows, free up time, and focus on the parts of the role that can’t be delegated to agents: judgment, critical reasoning, and human relationships
- Obsessive about information hygiene. You recognize that great judgment only compounds when supported by rigorous systems for tracking relationships, market signals, and portfolio intelligence.
- Entrepreneurial and self-directed. You identify what needs doing and do it
- Highly organized, with a nose for what matters and the discipline to maintain systems under pressure
- A collaborative instinct across time zones and comfortable working with a primarily European team asynchronously
- Based in or relocating to New York with commitment to travel to London and SF
What You’ll Get
Real ownership from week one, including projects that matter and will be seen by the people who matter. Carry participation. A front-row seat to some of Europe’s best growth-stage companies at pivotal moments in their journeys and going global with the US as the first step. A direct working relationship with a GP who is invested in your development. And the kind of network across founders, operators, investors, and the US and European ecosystems that takes most people a decade to build.
