Hey, I’m Malcolm and thanks for reading up on me!

I’m best known for bootstrapping my consumer brand Zaggora (now Saint and Sofia - to $40million in sales in our first 18 months. For that, I won E-Commerce Strategy of the Year at the National Business Awards in 2012 and was featured in a Harvard Business School Case Study. I was also up for Entrepreneur of the Year but the Better Bathrooms guy won that :( You can read all about all this on Wikipedia (

I help Seedcamp’s portfolio companies with all things growth and marketing from high level strategy to funnel building and optimising specific landing pages and Facebook campaigns. I know how hard growth and marketing can be after starting probably 30 ventures by now since 1998 when I was 16 (now I’m 35, yikes!).

I’ve tried every marketing channel you can think of across the lifecycle of pirate metrics (Acquisition, Activation, Retention, Referral and Revenue), wasting a lot of money in the process. As a result, I have a pretty good idea on what kind of results you can expect from each marketing channel and how to build a funnel that can convert for your startup (or not!).

I’ve raised money from VCs too, $2,8ml from investors like Bessemer Venture Partners and Octopus Investments, so I can help you with marketing to investors and building a US and UK fundraising round too

When I’m not here at Seedcamp, I’m still building out my Zaggora.  I’m also a Guest Expert in Residence at Harvard Business School. I’ve advised folks over at Facebook, Google and Twitter on their marketing strategies too. I regularly speak at any event where people will listen to me for 60 minutes, including at Oxford University’s Said Business School, for Google’s Squared Program and at Facebook … I even did a Tedx Talk once.

Before all this, I studied at the London school of Economics, graduating in 2005 - although I spent most of my time there on Facebook and chatting up my wife :)
