Many of us dream of having an AI agent that can seamlessly automate the boring parts of our job.
The reality is that most AI agents are still far from handling administrative work end-to-end.
Speak to any busy executive and they’ll tell you they’re still doing much of their manual work themselves, with the added burden of managing a fleet of poorly-controlled AI agents on top of it all.
Today, we’re proud to be backing Catch AI, an agent designed to genuinely free executives from administrative work, in their $5 million seed round alongside Entrée Capital, Pitango and Factorial Capital.
What sets Catch apart from other AI agents is that it’s built to execute tasks, rather than simply remind the end user. For example, if Catch notices a flight reservation that doesn’t include a hotel, it checks prices at the executive’s favourite hotel and requests approval before booking directly in the chat. Crucially, Catch requires an explicit yes before any financial transaction; an important choice in a category where unsupervised AI agents have eroded users’ trust.
Most agents capable of this level of execution are designed for technical people. Catch has been created for the people actually running businesses, with no complicated setup or workflow to configure.
Many core product decisions came from the hours of user research the founders carried out. Cofounders Nir Sabato and Yoav Ramon spoke with more than 100 executive assistants across banks, consulting firms and startups to gain a complete understanding of the role. That shaped a simple bet: narrow AI that’s “meaningful, secure, and useful” will beat complex, all-purpose agents that try to do too much, too fast.
Seedcamp Managing Partner Carlos Eduardo Espinal MBE said: “In early conversations, we were seriously impressed with the hours of research and thinking Nir & Yoav put into building Catch, and it now has paid off. Truly creating a useful agent is a job in and of itself, but creating a team of agents for your team, in addition to giving them responsibility and value, is something entirely different”
“Catch excels because they are hyper-focused on getting the basics right and giving people something genuinely useful. That’s what makes a product really sticky.”
