2013 brings the return of Mini Seedcamps
Mini Seedcamps have been at the heart of our activity from day one, and in many ways define our core values. We met some of our most successful teams by traveling to their cities and have pledged to keep this activity going. We’ve discovered entrepreneurial talent in all corners of the world and our 88 investments originate from over 30 countries. Seedcamp’s Family is truly a global one and we want to continue this tradition by visiting key cities and exploring new regions.
Local Partners
During the last 5 years we’ve met incredible local champions who are pioneering their cities into startup hubs and boosting the local startup community. Over time we’ve gotten to know each other well and are lucky to call many our friends. This year we will be partnering more closely with our local partners and they will now also play a role alongside ourselves in selecting the finalists.
Applying to a Mini Seedcamp
Applications to Mini Seedcamp will take place on Angelist. There are 4 questions startups must answer. Together with our local partner we will select and invite the 10 most promising startups to join us at the Mini Seedcamp Event. These 10 companies will benefit from immediate feedback on their startup, network with the startup community and gain exposure to local angels and investors. For any teams that truly shine and impress us they will be awarded a wildcard to join our next quarterly Seedcamp Week. Here they will have an opportunity to get selected for Seedcamp investment as well as gain huge value by participating in the four day event made up of; Presentation Training, Investment interviews, Mentoring and a Demo Day. There is of course no reason why you shouldn’t apply to meet us at a Mini Seedcamp in a city close to you and apply directly to the next Seedcamp Week Event.
Schedule
The event is run over a half-day period. The aim is to accelerate local startup businesses through masterclasses, networking and immediate feedback. The audience is made up of serial entrepreneurs, product/bizdev experts, VC’s, angels and startups. The format comprises of a masterclass by Seedcamp, short presentations by all the participating teams to a panel who will provide immediate feedback. The schedule will also include networking and a panel debate including Q&A. The panel is designed to reflect the local ecosystem, and bring some actionable insights for all attending guests. During the wrap up any team shortlisted to attend the next Seedcamp Week event will be announced.
