We are counting the days to our first big event of 2011 – Seedcamp London 2011, taking place next week at Nesta’s premises. Applications have been coming in from all over the world; we have seen applications from almost all European countries, and even some from as far as Australia and India. Looks like travelling around the globe starts to pay off!
But we can not do it alone – Seedcamp has always been about our big network of mentors and friends and the line up of mentors looks pretty impressive:
Top Product and Marketing folks from all over Europe, Entrepreneurs, startup bloggers, and top Seedcamp Mentors are arriving from Finland to Italy, from Poland to Portugal. Our Sponsors Google, Paypal, and Microsoft are sending mentors and supporters, and the London entrepreneurial scene is attending in full swing:
- Joe Stepniewski from Skimlinks
- Paula Marttila
- Bretton Putter from the Forsyth Group
- Tina Baker from Brown Rudnick
- David Noël from Soundcloud
- Stephanie Bouchet from Rouge Frog
- Daniel King from mySupermarket
- Permjot Valia from Flight and Partners
Also, we have partners and associates from Europe’s most prolific Venture Capital firms in attendance:
… and many other valuable members of our community will be mentoring, so it looks like another great Seedcamp for the selected teams.
We have received a record number applications over the last few weeks and spent some good time selecting the final participants. While we did see some clear trends towards B2B and enterprise services in Seedcamp Week 2010, we must say that teams all over Europe are tackling new and interesting challenges – particularly in the consumer internet and mobile space. The amount of social integration in all applications is notable, especially in shopping and e-commerce applications and platforms.
