We’re super excited to open applications for the first Seedcamp of 2012 in London, and where better to host it than in our own hometown, London on Tuesday 31st January.

This year we’ve already invested in 22 teams, even before Mini Seedcamp Paris takes place next week. That makes 2011 a record year for Seedcamp – hopefully we’ll continue this trend of going from strength to strength, and 2012 will be even better.

Call us biased, but we think there’s no better way to kick off the year than to spend a day with Europe’s top investors, serial entrepreneurs and product experts. We’re extremely proud of our mentors: we now have over 2,000 high-quality mentors who are truly passionate about helping the next generation of promising startups. They are instrumental in supporting us and our companies, and London is home to some of our best mentors.

So get started on your application now! Make sure to tell us what makes you unique, and why you’re the next big thing. We receive hundreds of great applications for each Seedcamp, so ensure you spend time articulating your vision and company, and your progress so far. Standing out from the crowd is key!

Apply now applications are open until the 12th January 2012, we look forward to seeing you next year.

On November 16, we held our third Mini Seedcamp event in Barcelona, this time at ESADE Creapolis, a beautiful university campus outside of town. We were already impressed by the huge number of applications for the event (many of which came from Spain and Portugal). Our selection of the 20 participants was again spread out widely – 10 different countries were represented with various interesting companies.

A Seedcamp veteran shares his story

After the kick off and teams’ presentations (very well prepared and executed), we had the opportunity to listen to Tomasz Matuszczyk, who is running Tuenti’s engineering office in Barcelona. Besides Tuenti’s immense growth and recent acquisition by Telefonica, his talk covered his own journey as an entrepreneur and employee. Most interestingly, Tomasz was part of the founding team of Tablefinder, one of the first Seedcamp companies back in 2007/ From his experiences, he shared a lot about his learnings of the whirlwind that is Seedcamp.

The rest of the day was buzzing throughout – the mentoring sessions, both for mentors and founders, resulted in great conversations and discussions. As always, we wrapped up the day in a local bar – eDreams was so kind to sponsor the drinks in downtown Barcelona.

Another Seedcamp Brother – welcome Socialbro!

Socialbro was one of the companies that impressed us most throughout the day – not only because the founders were extremely engaged in deep conversation and discussions with everybody in attendance, but also because they really let their business shine during the presentations and mentoring sessions. This is why they are the newest member of the Seedcamp family. We are glad to welcome another spanish company (after Offset Options and Robot Media, who were great supporters in Barcelona).

Check out the Sociabro application to explore your own Twitter community – judging by their very impressive list of existing customers, we’re sure you’ll be just as impressed with what they’ve built. We hope to help the team make a real dent in the CRM and social media management industry.

We also want to thank our sponsors, both locally (ESADE and eDreams) and globally (Microsoft Bizspark, Google, Qualcomm, and Facebook) for their support. Our event partners Foundum and ESADE were invaluable, and did a great job in supporting us.

On the 6th December we’re hosting the final Mini Seedcamp of 2011, and what better way to end the year than hosting Mini Seedcamp Paris in the same week as the brilliant Le Web! Some great mentors will be in town, and many will be joining us.

We’re also excited about teaming up with Le Camping to host a party during the evening courtesy of 360 Capital Partners. A great extension to the day event for networking informally with no doubt a well deserved drink in hand.

Here is a selection of a few big names who will be mentoring some of Europe’s hottest new companies:

2011 has been a great year for Seedcamp for loads of reasons. The number of startups applying to Seedcamp increases year-on-year, and 2011 has been no exception. We’ve also had numerous high calibre investors and funds joining the Seedcamp family. On top of that, lots of great new mentors have taken part in our events, new Mini Seedcamp locations, new sponsors and local partners have helped us make this our best year yet.

We’re therefore very excited to end the year with a bang at Mini Seedcamp Paris; we have over 70 incredible mentors, now we just need 20 awesome startups to complete the package.

This could be you! Are you building a super cool new web service? Are downloads of your mobile app going through the roof? Are developers chasing you to use your cool new tools? Answer yes to any of these questions and you should definitely apply to Mini Seedcamp Paris!

Applications are open until midnight Wednesday 16th November so make sure you don’t miss out.

We look forward to seeing you in Paris!

On the 16th November we’ll be hosting our penultimate Mini Seedcamp of 2011.  This year startups seems more keen than ever to participate in the unique opportunity to be mentored by over 70 European key players in the fields of entrepreneurship, VC’s, biz dev and corp dev.

As always we’re excited to announce the line up of the awesome teams who’ll be joining us in Barcelona:

A couple of noteworthy things, 10 geographies are represented, with teams traveling from as far as India, Israel and Moscow. Secondly this is certainly one of the strongest local representatives we’ve seen at any Seedcamp this year with a whooping 6 Spanish teams! We were also very pleased to see that pitch.me made it into the top 20 teams. Pitch.me was created at our First (and so far only) Seedhack event on September 23rd.

We look forward to seeing you all on the 16th November in Barcelona! We also want to thanks ESADE, who is hosting us for the day, and eDreams, the leader in cheap flights, who are inviting the teams for drinks afterwards.
