I joined Seedcamp as Head of Finance in early 2017. In addition to supporting the investment team, my responsibilities lie across investment portfolio tracking & analysis, fund operations, finance and regulation.

I am excited about the power of technology to democratise knowledge and systemise processes. At Seedcamp, I get to work with visionary people every day that are making that happen and to combine finance and creativity.

My initial career in investment banking and being expansion & operations lead at an early stage start-up have shown me that closing multi-million pound deals can be as exciting as getting your first repeat user.

I am a true European having grown up in Luxembourg to a German mother and English father. I speak English, German, French and Luxembourgish, love backcountry skiing and making new friends.

I’m the guy our founders call when they need advice. I work closely with our companies on everything from settling founder disputes to setting fundraising milestones – I wrote a book called The Fundraising Fieldguide to help answer many of a startups’ questions around the fundraising process.

Having worked as an Associate at Doughty Hanson Technology Ventures, as an Engineer for the Advanced Communications Technologies group of The New York Stock Exchange (SIAC), and as a consultant, at PKI Developer, Cybertrust/Baltimore Technologies before joining Seedcamp back in 2010, I love tech and jumping into the deep end with new ideas and products.

I’m originally from Honduras but went to college in the US before moving to London. I travel frequently both in a work and a personal capacity and am fascinated by the evolution of the tech ecosystem across the globe and spreading the Seedcamp message so we can support and unite our founders.

Much like our founders, I’m on a constant quest for knowledge and democratising information. I spearheaded SeedSummit with partners across the world to make key information accessible to anyone looking to startup a business. You’ll also find me podcasting for Seedcamp at ‘This Much I Know where I speak to innovators, leading tech voices, investors and operators who share their journey with our listeners.

My analytical and scientific approach to a lot of what I do is countered with my love of creative outlets. I’m an avid bloggerphotographer, coffee lover, and a bouldering aficionado.

As a Principal at Seedcamp, I spend most of my time sourcing, evaluating and supporting the best early-stage companies in Europe.

I’ve always been fascinated by the power of technology and its role in making people’s lives easier, particularly in areas where access to resources and opportunities are limited. It’s a real privilege to work every day with extraordinary people from all walks of life who are involved in the building of products which are tangibly changing the world for the better.

Prior to joining Seedcamp as an intern, I graduated with a civil engineering degree from the University of Cape Town before completing an MSc at Imperial College London. My first real taste of the tech world came during an internship at Google before two friends and I co-founded a startup tackling the inefficiencies around online clothing returns processes – giving me a practical glimpse into the rollercoaster ride that is startup life.

On a personal level, I was born in France but predominantly grew up in South Africa and Venezuela before moving to the UK. Outside of work, few things bring me more joy than playing football, travelling to new places, or surfing with friends when not stuck in London’s rain!

I head technology at Seedcamp and am very passionate about the way technology is shaping the future. At Seedcamp I work on internal and public-facing projects ensuring we leverage the right tool suite so that we continue to identify, invest and support the most exciting companies out there.

I am a computer engineer and have been working on digital products for over a decade – passing through different phases that mostly exposed me to full-stack web development and online marketing. Before joining Seedcamp I worked at a university, built a network of websites taking it from 0 to 2 Million visits per year, worked with early-stage companies, supported NGOs and spent about two and a half years working on two startups of my own – one in the beauty sector and a second focused on entrepreneurship/VC.

Being born in Portugal and growing up in Switzerland means I speak three languages on a native-level plus four more on a beginner to intermediate level. During my spare time I enjoy photography and exploring new cultures and destinations

I’m a Partner at Seedcamp where I source and select companies for us to invest in at the early stage of their inception.

I feel privileged to work in a role where I get to meet with world-class founders building the market leading companies of tomorrow. As one of the first ports of call, I’m there in the good and bad times and committed to helping our founders achieve their full potential.

Prior to Seedcamp, I studied Economics and Law and worked for a large international law firm in London where I specialised in VC fundraising and M&A. I’ve always been fascinated by technology and building companies so when the opportunity came up to move over to the investing side with Seedcamp in 2014 I jumped at it – a decision I haven’t regretted for a second since!

When not bothering my friends with the next startup they have to check out, you’ll likely find me playing football, doing something active, or supporting my beloved Newcastle United.
